“Trauma care is an important focus for HemoSonics because major bleeding remains a significant contributor to poor outcomes following traumatic injury,” said Davis Bland. “Timely information can help clinicians make informed decisions about bleeding management, and we’re proud to see the Quantra System recognized by the clinicians and trauma surgeons working to improve care for these patients.”

The Quantra System is a cartridge-based, point-of-care viscoelastic testing (VET) platform that uses ultrasound-based technology to assess whole-blood coagulation. In trauma care, VET can provide information about clot formation, clot strength, and clot breakdown to help clinicians guide bleeding management.

International clinical guidance and professional societies have recognized the role of viscoelastic testing in supporting the assessment and treatment of bleeding. HemoSonics remains committed to advancing access to timely coagulation information and supporting clinicians as they navigate complex, time-sensitive decisions in trauma care.

The 85th Annual AAST Meeting brought together 993 physicians and scientists and featured over 50 exhibitors, providing a forum for clinical research, education and collaboration across trauma and acute care surgery.
