New CEO brings more than two decades of leadership experience to a company dedicated to hands-on science education.
ROSEVILLE, Calif., Nov. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — PASCO scientific announced the appointment of David Lopez as Chief Executive Officer, effective October 5, 2026. Lopez brings more than two decades of experience in education, international service, organizational leadership, and partnership development.
Founded in 1964 by Paul Allan Stokstad, PASCO develops hands-on science education equipment, sensors, software, and curriculum that help students learn through experimentation and discovery.
“PASCO has been blessed by the dedication of leaders and employees who have faithfully sustained and advanced our mission through the years,” said Shelley Stokstad, Trustee of PASCO scientific. “David joins that remarkable company of people, bringing gifts and perspectives that will strengthen our collective efforts.”
Before joining PASCO, Lopez founded and led the Center for Humanitarian Engagement at Walla Walla University, connecting students with community partners to address practical needs. Previously, at Maranatha Volunteers International, he organized people and resources for international service projects.
Kenneth Weiss, Chairman of PASCO’s Board of Directors, previously worked with Lopez at Maranatha Volunteers International, where they helped advance international service projects in challenging environments.
“Having worked with David at Maranatha, I’ve seen how he approaches difficult challenges,” Weiss said. “He listens carefully, brings people together, and stays focused on getting the work done. That kind of leadership will serve PASCO well as we build on the trust we’ve earned with educators and partners around the world.”
Lopez understands the value of hands-on science personally. As a college student, he completed an entire year of physics coursework in one summer and discovered how laboratory experiences could make challenging scientific concepts understandable and exciting.
At PASCO, Lopez plans to listen closely to educators and Global Science Education Partners, build on the product quality and service customers have come to trust, and strengthen key partnerships. He sees sustainable growth as essential to continued investment in the tools and support teachers need to help students learn through discovery and experimentation.
“PASCO has a long history of helping educators bring science to life,” Lopez said. “My focus is to build on that legacy and help more students experience the excitement of scientific discovery.”
Lopez earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in chemistry from Walla Walla University and a Master of Science in Administration from Andrews University. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies in public policy and administration at Walden University.
